APS-C 40mm F2.8 Macro

Absolute Surprise

I needed a macro lens for a small project and didn’t want to spend a small fortune. I’ve owned and used a variety of other, much more expensive macro lenses in the past so I do have a frame of reference for the comparison. This little lens far exceeded my expectations. It is very, very sharp and just what I needed to digitize a few film images. Constructed of metal, it is well built, tight and focuses well. The lens cap is a unique screw on cap! Speed of use is not its strong point, but for most macro subjects you’re not trying to follow focus anyway. If you can live with manual focus and a rather short focal length, this lens is a fantastic value.
