What should a

High-quality Adapter

look like?

Aperture Data Recording

Using an M mount lens with a normal adapter ring on the Sony camera body, the changes of the aperture ring can not be captured by the camera system. In this case, the photo will lack the recording of the aperture data.

With the TTArtisan 6Bit adapter, the issue will be solved easily. you only need to set the aperture data the same as the aperture of the using lens, and the aperture information will be recorded in the photo Exif information.

1. The recordable aperture is subject to the camera.

For example, if the lens aperture is F0.95, but the camera does not have the F0.95 aperture, the F0.95 cannot be recorded in EXIF data.

2.The minimum aperture that can be recorded is F16.

Focal length ldentifying

For lenses with 6Bit contacts, the adapter ring will automatically identify the lens focal length data and transmit it to the camera system.

For lenses without 6Bit contacts, after manually setting the lens focal length date on the adapter ring, the camera can record the focal length information.

Selectable focal lengths:

135   90   75   50   35   28

Button for Resetting the Focus Length

6 Bit Adapter - Almost There

The 6 Bit Adapter is well constructed and works well with my Sony A7R4a. I would rate the adapter higher, but I bought the lens to work with the TTArtisans 100mm Trioplan. While the adapter does enable recording f-stop and antishake, it does not record the name of the lens accurately. Calling the Trioplan a Leica instead. This is disappointing. I would only recommend this if you are adapting Leica lens.

A significant upgrade

Version 2 of this adapter is a significant upgrade. Click stops on the focal length selector make it much easier to select the correct focal length. The reset button, which updates the focal length information after any change is just as useful. These sound minor but in my experience they make it much easier to use.
