Unlike modern lenses with creamy smooth bokeh, TTArtisan 100mm f2.8 produces the soap bubble bokeh effect. Soap bubble bokeh is characterized by a bokeh ball with a bright edge around their perimeters and will give stunning results.

Special Bokeh

It can be used to create special and beautiful nature and portrait photography.

Full Frame with a Large Image Circle

The 100mm f2.8 is a full-frame lens, and the actual imaging circle can almost cover the medium format. When this lens is used on APS-C or Full-frame cameras, it is equivalent to retaining the better quality part of the large image circle. When this lens is used on medium format cameras, the faint vignetting makes the work more artistic.

Bubble Bokeh 100mm Lens

Received my lens faster than expected. Feels solidly built, all metal construction. Should be a fun lens to use.

Some bubbles, but a decent lens for the money

I figured at the price this lens was being offered and what I had seen on social media about it, it was worth a try. It did not disappoint in that regard. I have not been able to get as much bubble bokeh as I saw on posts online, but it is a work in progress with the right settings. It is a nice change of pace and affordable.

Interesting lens somewhat let down by a smallish aperture

It produces decently sharp pictures if you use it within its limits, producing very nice out of focus bokeh. Light sources in the background are round with a circular ring. With its aperture of only f2.8, it is best to use this lens in well lit areas or with higher ISO.

Distinctive

The bokeh is beautiful - pure circular with subtle outline. In a world where modern lenses are designed for "correct"ness, it's good to see one of the few trading on its signature effect so well as to set itself apart. If you appreciate lenses such as the Helios for its characteristics, you'll love this.

Lens Orientation

Great optically, very nice finish, well built, smooth focus, awesome price. With one flaw though. The non-standard orientation of the lens when mounted on an adapter or M42 mount camera. I would have to buy an extra adjustable adapter for each camera I want to use this lens with because the orientation is different than all my other M42 mount lenses. And there is just no way to use this lens easily on an original M42 mount film camera. Why not just make the lens with standard orientation, with the numbers (depth of field, F#, ect.) on top? An otherwise perfect lens.
